Endless Fun

Pizza parties, mermaids, para sailing, miature golf, naps on the beach, wake boarding, surf fishing, pyramids, sand castles, celebrating our 23rd anniversary, swordfish, halibut, kite flying, seashells and cranes...and that's just the last three days!

This is Harold and Melanie para sailing. Amy was waiting in the boat for her turn.

Melanie, Harold, and Amy

Some local men fished beside us for a few days and didn't mind the kids watching or helping.

Melanie's son, Jonathan, got to try his hand at surf fishing and was pretty successful.

Jonathan with a Sheephead. He also caught some Whiting.

Steve and Sarah playing in the waves. Although oil was predicted to arrive at the beach here earlier this week, we haven't seen any.

Tiny sand dollars are plentiful.

The beach was mostly clear the first few days we were here. Yesterday and today there were lots of shells.

David the 'Ninja Wake Boarder'.

Jacob catching a wave.

Michael napping on the beach...he wasn't the only one...

Maggie, Danielle, and Sarah...

Lizzy napping on her Mamma's lap.

A Crane stands on an oil barrier looking for Krill.

Lizzy wanted to be a mermaid too!

Steve and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary at a fabulous restaurant called Cobalts that was right on the beach...swordfish...halibut...barbecued shrimp...four layer chocolate cake..."can I just say YUM?!"

Steve and Andy decided to try para sailing today (Friday) and loved it!

We had a pizza party tonight to celebrate the end of our week here at Gulf Shores.

Everything's Beachy

The wind persisted Sunday and Monday but that didn't keep the more 'adventurous' out of the water. Our friends, Pat, Lynn, and Ben Huyck, arrived last night from Tampa, Florida to spend a week here also. Today (Tuesday) was picture day. We all donned our tie-dye shirts and took some very colorful pictures. Then we headed to Lamberts Restaurant, 'Home of The Throwed Roll'. If you've never been to one, don't pass it by if you see one. The southern food is plentiful and they really do throw the roll at you, and they keep on throwing until you catch one. We have a whole lotta fun there!

Derrick, John, and Jonathan

This also is tradition--That's Amy going down after splashing Steve :~)

Jacob and Lexie

All the girls stay in our condo...and there's a t.v. in every bedroom. Neither the Christensens or us Isbells have had television for a long time. Can you guess what they're doing here :~?

Danielle and Sarah playing cards before bedtime.

Two against one...I wonder who won? Maggie, Lexie, and Aaron.

All the kids at Souvenir City.

Pat, Lynn, and Ben

Imagine 34 people in tie-dye shirts. That was all of us on the beach this morning for picture day. Amy was the 'master-mind' of the colorful shirts.
